Herbal Body Rinse

Dear Lissy,
You are off for an overnight at Grammy and Gug's and I already miss you.  Our home isn't the same without your sweet sparkle! I'm stealing a few moments from this busy day to share an after shower herbal rinse that keeps my fair, sensitive skin free of blemishes and infections.  This rinse is also effective at keeping bug bites from becoming infected.

Herbal Body Rinse
1 Gallon filtered water
1 Tbsp Jasmine green tea leaves or
2 Jasmine Green Tea bags
10 ml ( 1 dropper) Grapefruit Seed Extract*

Bring water to a low boil.  Add tea.  Steep for 5 minutes.  Add Grapefruit seed extract.  Allow to cool.  Pour over body after bathing, avoiding eyes.  Repeat 2-3 times per week.  Give extra care to areas where skin is bug bitten or prone to blemishes or infection.  Soak feet for 3 minutes each if athletes foot is present.

*Neem or Tea Tree Oil can be substituted for Grapefruit Seed Extract.

Love the skin you're in!

  1. Can this be used on the scalp? My daughter has breakout on her scalp and can't find anything to relieve it.

  2. Absolutely! Just be very, very careful to keep it out of her eyes as the citrus stings badly. You can also drink jasmine green tea with a couple of drops of grapefruit seed oil in it for a multitude of internal problems.

  3. This sounds like an easy recipe for a beginner like me! And I'm always getting bug bites that itch endlessly! I'll have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing and linking up.
